Celar waterfall path

Celar waterfall path

The path begins at the foot of the 120 meter high Celar waterfall. The path runs in serpentines along the waterfall. Two spectacular viewing platforms near the stream offer a perfect perspective. From there, visitors can watch the masses of water thunder into the valley. At the end of a beautiful hike, a slight ascent leads to the Gölbnerblick hut with its Celarkapelle.

From the Unterstalleralm, in the rear Villgratental, an approx. 30-minute hike leads to the Oberstaller Alm.

Olala-festival in Lienz

Street theatre festival "Olala" (July)

Olala has developed into one of the most popular and well-known street theatre festivals in Europe over the last two decades due to its innovative and unconventional character.

The festival and its artists (approx. 40 groups from 13 different countries) transform the urban living space in Lienz and its surroundings into a large cultural arena in the open air, enchant passers-by into curious observers and shape everyday life into a sensual cultural experience.

"... worthy of a prince" - this is how the Tyrolean topographer Beda Weber characterized Schloss Bruck, the former residence of the Counts of Görz in his work "Das Land Tirol. Ein Handbuch für Reisende" (1838).

The monumental castle, owned by the city of Lienz since 1942, is one of the main attractions of Osttirol and today houses the Museum of the city of Lienz with the most extensive collection of works by the East Tyrolean painter Albin Egger-Lienz.

Aguntum is the name of the antique Roman city in East Tyrol. The association Curatorium Pro Agunto strives to preserve Aguntum as a valuable cultural asset for future generations.

To achieve this goal, the association operates a museum and an archaeological park which are accessible to the general public.

This Alpine Coaster is one of the longest and most spectacular coasters in the world, yet extremely safe and comfortable. Single or in pairs you sit strapped in a comfortable sled. How fast you actually want to drive is determined by yourself with two handbrake levers.

Breathtaking is the ride but especially by the sensational panoramic view at Bruck Castle, the sunny city and the Lienzer Talboden. Osttirodeln is the new trend sport in Lienz, but Attention: it can be addictive!

Panorama road Großglockner

The Großglockner

The Großglockner (often also called Glockner) is the highest mountain in Austria with an altitude of 3,798 m above sea level. The prominent peak made of rocks of the Grünschieferfazies belongs to the Glockner Group, a mountain range in the central part of the Hohe Tauern, and is considered one of the most important peaks of the Eastern Alps.

The Großglockner High Alpine Road is one of the Top-3 destinations in Austria in the middle of the Alps and is an excellent day trip!

Excursions and sights - SÜDTIROL

The border to South Tyrol/Italy is only 15 km away from our hotel.
South Tyrol is home to the world famous "Three Peaks", a beautiful, distinctive mountain massif in the South Tyrolean Dolomites.
The two communities of San Candido and Dobbiaco near the border are easy to reach (also by bike) and spray mediterranean flair in the middle of the Alps.

The "Three Peaks"

The "Three Peaks"

The Three Peaks (Italian Tre Cime di Lavaredo) are a distinctive mountain massif in the Sextner Dolomites on the border between the Italian provinces of Belluno in the south and South Tyrol in the north.

The area around the Three Peaks is ideal for long hikes, the Peaks themselves are considered El Dorado for climbers and mountaineers.

Market town Innichen

Innichen

The market town Innichen (Italian: San Candido) towers in the south far into the Sesto Dolomites and the Three Peaks Nature Park. San Candido has an urban flair and with its lively pedestrian zone is ideal for strolling and shopping. The adventure mountain Haunold is very popular with families.

Relax at the Lake Braies

Lake Braies

The Lake Braies (50 minutes by car from our hotel) is considered the "Pearl of the Dolomite Lakes" and offers everything for a cosy day at the lake at almost 1,500 m above sea level.

Our tip: Enjoy the circular hiking trail by the lake and strengthen yourself with a picnic basket prepared by us!
